The above video was aired on OPB Oregon Art Beat a few times in 2009 and 2010. They interviewed and filmed me in my studio and home. My work has change quite a bit since then. I was just beginning to add china paint to my work and I kept the color subtle. I have since moved to a richer color pallet. I also moved somewhat away from wall figural work to free standing sculpture. Throughout my career I have allowed myself the freedom to move to new artistic expressions when I feel that I have reached a plateau with an idea or line of work. It keeps the work alive and joyful for me
This is a short video in time lapse. Makes it look fast & easy!
Time lapse again. Check out next video to see painting in real time. A bit slower!
In real time.
This video is in real time.
Time lapse of staining a small bisqued piece. I use black underglaze which fills in the carving and creates shading as I sponge it away.
Almost finished staining. After some more shading in the background it will be ready for the second kiln firing.
